Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Anti-Racism Series: Undoing Structural Racism
Led by the Cultural Coalition, this is a series of events, trainings and conversations with and for professionals and community leaders engaged in the work of redesigning policies and operations from a diverse, equitable, inclusive and anti-racist lens. The series’ goal is to increase representation, access, and opportunities for BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Color) community members in our region - among leadership, boards, staff, volunteers and audiences served - through educational activities, collaboration, and networking activities.
Workshop Details
- Understand what structural racism looks like in an organization and how it is manifested.
- Learn the importance of acknowledgement, commitment and transformation along the journey to racial equity.
- Receive practical tips, tools and advice for implementing a measurable and sustainable strategy to guide your organization.
Workshop Presenter
Thought Partner Solutions (TPS) is a Black-owned management consulting firm that provides advisory services to organizations to dismantle institutional racism. Their “RE-ACT for Change”TM framework moves organizations from ideas to action - from vision to transformation, through solutions that achieve measurable outcomes and sustainable change. This customized, interactive workshop will be facilitated by TPS Founder and CEO, Jamal Jimerson.
Jamal has given presentations on nonprofit diversity, inclusion, equity, and leadership for regional and national workshops. He is a member of the Connecticut Association for Diversity and Equity Professionals, an Alumnus of AmeriCorps, and an Alumnus of Leadership Greater Hartford’s Quest program. Jamal was the recipient of the 2017 One Hundred Men of Color award and the 2017 Hartford Business Journal's 40 Under Forty award for his leadership and achievements in the nonprofit sector.
