United Way of Southeastern Connecticut has a Day of Caring planned with a pair of their local Giving Gardens. Coogan Farm at the Denision Pequotsepos Nature Center in Mystic and East Lyme Giving Garden are looking for volunteers to help get the growing season underway! Volunteer activities might involve things like seeding, weeding, or mulching, but will be specifically determined the day of the event.
The Giving Gardens help provide United Way's Mobile Food Pantries with fresh produce, allowing families in need the opportunity to access healthy options. They are looking to lend a helping hand to their partners to help continue this mission.

Recommendations for materials for volunteers to bring: work/garden gloves, sunscreen, tick spray, water, hat, proper shoes. We ask that any children are adequately supervised during the volunteer opportunity. We also ask if any groups are interested in volunteering, to have each individual sign up for this particular event.
