YPcommunity: Young Professionals Making a Difference in Eastern CT!
Join us for an evening volunteering in the warehouse at the Gemma E. Moran United Way/Labor Food Center in New London. Since 1988, the Food Center has played a key role in providing one of the building blocks to a good quality of life by feeding families and individuals facing hunger and food insecurity throughout New London County. Last year, the Food Center distributed the equivalent of 3.1 million meals through 92 feeding program sites such as food pantries, shelters, childcare centers, community meal sites, programs for the elderly, and our Mobile Food Pantry, at no cost to those in need. Warehouse volunteers will be sorting donated food in preparation for distribution. Participants must wear closed toed shoes.
