Coast Guard Pistol to Defend Several National Championships

New London, CT – Coast Guard will look to defend several national championships at the 2019 NRA Intercollegiate Pistol Championships on in Fort Benning, Ga. beginning on Saturday.
The Bears will be looking to bring home some hardware once again led by senior Helen Oh during the four day championship.
Oh is the three-time defending national champion in women's Air Pistol and defending champion in the women's All-Around and the Open All-Around Championship.
Last year was the first time ever at the Collegiate National Championship that one shooter won both the women's All-Around and the Open All-Around championship. It was the first time Coast Guard won the All-Around championship.
Junior Kevin Bennett is the defending national champion in men's Air Pistol while senior Brian Kim placed second last season.
Kim won the Men's Air Pistol and All-Around championship in 2017 and the Men's Sport Pistol National Championship in 2016.

OPEN EVENTS
Qualifying teams and individuals are selected based on scores fired in the current year's NRA Intercollegiate Pistol Sectionals.
Teams qualifying in two of the three team events may participate in all three team events in order to compete for national aggregate championship for awards only.
WOMENS EVENTS
The top 20 ranking women who fire in the NRA Intercollegiate Pistol Sectional Women's Air Pistol event are invited to compete for the title of Women's Collegiate Air Pistol National Champion. The top 20 women who fired in the NRA Intercollegiate Pistol Sectionals women's sport event are invited to compete for the title of Women's Collegiate Sport Pistol National Champion. The top seven teams in Women's Air Pistol and Women's Sport Pistol will be invited to the Championships.
